Baby Quilt

Hi.  This is a quilt I made for a new mother, Amy, at work.  She was having a boy so I chose green, blue and yellow to make her quilt.  I sort of chose 'Trip Around the World' as my pattern and decided to quilt X's through the blocks.  I think it turned out well.  I had learned a new way to attach the binding from my mother's friend Mary-Ellen so I tried it on this quilt.  Wow!!  It made it so much easier when joining the beginning and end.  You can't even tell.  You would think it was just where I joined the binding strips together as I was sewing them together.  I really love making quilts.  I'm making a log cabin right now for my daughter who is getting married this fall.  Hopefully sometime soon I'll be able to show you it as well.

Have a great day,

Cathy

Hi.  How excited are you about the new catalogue??  I just received mine and I'm thrilled.  So many new sets I want.  Or is that need???  LOL.  Oh my gracious.  I know we've said before that they've outdone themselves at Stampin' UP! but this time it's true.  Gorgeous new in-colors as well as beautiful new dsp.  Effective July 1 customers can order from the new catalogue.  If you would like to have one just send me an email and let me know.  Let me just say 'you are sooooo going to want one'.

Today, I decided to make a card based on a card I saw in the new catalogue.  Mine is below and I'll let you guess where I took the idea from once you are able to see the new Idea Book & Catalogue.

Hope you have a wonderful day.
 Hugs, Cathy

Too long away!!

Hi.  Well I'm back.  I've been neglecting this blog.  But here I have a birthday card I've made for my Son, Andrew, who turns 24 on Wednesday.  I can't believe it!!  Time really does fly.  It seems just yesterday he was running around the neighbourhood like lightning.  He never stopped until bedtime.  Now he's grown and moved out on his own.  But I don't feel old. LOL!!

I used ' The Open Sea' for this card.  Love that stamp set!!  It is great for all different applications from cards to scrapbooking to travel logs.  It was a must have in my books.

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you

Hi.  Here is a 3x3 thank you card I made for a customer.  I used Not Quite Navy Cardstock and ran it through the big shot using the Vintage embossing folder.  The paper with the bees on it is from the Botanical paper in the new Occassions Mini.  What do you think of the rosettes??  Aren't they adorable!!!  I can see me making many more for other projects.  I think they are just precious.  Hope all of you are enjoying your day.

Valentine Cards

Tonight I wanted to make Valentine cards for my niece and nephew.  Making a card for a girl was easy but thinking about making a boy card I was stumped at first.  But as I went along it all came together. Hope you are thinking about making Valentine cards as well.

Well I must go and do some dishes since I've been crafting most of the evening. Hehehe!

Sew Suite

I sew love this stamp set!!  Because I enjoy sewing and quilting so much, when I saw this set in the new Occassions Mini I knew I had to have it.  But then it's ok how am I going to use it.  Well these are two of the designs I came up with.

Love the Pear Pizzazz!!  So I knew I wanted to use it on this card.  And do you have some of the new seam binding ribbon.  It's GORGEOUS!!  I'm hoping they bring it out in all of the colours.

Another colour I absolutely love is Crumb Cake.  Every colour goes beautifully with it!!  You can't make an ugly card with Crumb Cake.  LOL!
I used Certainly Celery along with Baja Breeze and I just love the combination!  Very yummy don't you think??

Baby Card

A friend asked if I could make her a baby card.  I really only have 1 stamp set to use for babies.  I should buy another set to use but for now here is what I came up with.
The news around here is that there is a storm coming.  I'm hoping we don't get too much snow but you just never know what Mother Nature decides to give us.  Hope everyone is safe and warm tomorrow.

First Swap

Hi everyone,  well these last few days have been a learning experience!!  I'm not unfamiliar with computers but there is certainly more for me to learn.  My friend and upline Tina Weller sent me an email showing me how to create and insert a watermark.  Well there are a few steps to being able to do this.  I've had to write each step down and follow it to a t.  (That's how I learn how to do things.)  For a while I didn't think I would ever get it but... I DID!!  Tonight in fact.  LOL.  I thought there is no way I'm not doing this.  A watermark added to your projects indicates that you have created the design and when you've spent time creating something that you didn't case it deserves to be acknowledged.  So here is a card front I created for my first ever swap with the Serene Stampers.  Hope it inspires you to create something.

For this swap I used Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used Natures Walk stamp set with Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, and Daffodil Delight ink.  The ribbon is the seam binding ribbon in Baja Breeze from the new Occassions mini.  LOVE IT!!!

Valentine Treat Holders

Hi there,
What an awesome weekend here in New Brunswick!!  I went to visit my parents yesterday and today I stayed home and made these sweet treat cups.  They are so fun.  I saw them originally on Kimberley Van Diepen's website: Stamping by the Sea.  She made them as decorations for Halloween but I thought they would be adorable for Valentine's Day.  See what you think:

Birthday Present

Hi.  Quick post today.  I just wanted to show you a book I decorated with designer paper as part of a birthday present for my niece Hannah.  She loved it!!  Even my daughter (who is 26) said ' I'm jealous.  Can I have one?'  It was very fun to make and I'm so glad she was pleased.  Below is a pic.
